As many businesses in Louisiana begin to re-open this weekend, the state's casinos are being asked to wait until next Monday to open their doors.

The state Gaming Control Board says casinos and video poker parlors can resume operating on May 18th under the Phase One social distancing guidelines.

When those locations reopen, they will be required to meet several social distancing and sanitizing conditions.

Those new conditions include limiting buildings to 25% capacity, checking visitors for fever and other symptoms before allowing them to enter, and offering face coverings to those entering the gaming area.

In New Orleans, however, casinos and video poker will remain closed for now.
