The demolition of three buildings around the collapsed Hard Rock Hotel is expected to begin today.
Developer 1031 Canal Street confirmed the process can begin now that special equipment has arrived from the firm hired to handle the project.
The city of New Orleans approved emergency permits to begin the demolition earlier in May following months of inspections, lawsuits, and negotiations.
The hotel collapsed in October 2019, killing three people and injuring dozens of others.
