Louisiana health care facilities are going to receive more than $1 billion in coronavirus aid, however, executives warn the financial damage could actually be much more.

The payout has been distributed to 5,000 facilities as part of the state's $72 billion in relief from the federal CARES Act.

Based on data from the CDC that number is subject to change because not all funds have been accepted by hospitals.

A large part of the money went to hospitals in New Orleans, Baton Rouge and Lafayette while a hospital CEO says the grant won't be enough to cover the loss of revenue for the months of March, April and May.
