A civil rights attorney is demanding that the New Orleans Police Department be honest about what weapons were used to disperse a march on the Crescent City Connection last Wednesday.
Yesterday, Katie Schwartzmann wrote a letter to officials saying that the projectile she has does not match the appearance of some other types of projectiles demonstrators said they photographed on the bridge, suggesting that multiple types of projectiles were fired.
Schwartzmann said she wanted to join others in calling on the NOPD to be honest about what happened that evening.
On Wednesday, the NOPD explicitly denied firing projectiles twice and said that only tear gas was used to disperse the crowd.
The department has yet to respond to Schwartzmann's letter.
