Officials in Grand Isle say they are concerned about the remainder of hurricane season after Cristobal damaged 1,600 feet of levee.

According to yesterday's reports, the burrito levee protecting homes on the island was badly eroded by Cristobal's heavy rains and high winds.

Jefferson Parish Councilman At-Large Ricky Templet said the storm washed away the levee's protective sand leaving the island vulnerable if it is hit by a storm again.

Crews are now inspecting the area to figure out the next steps to repair the damage.
