NOPD Superintendent Shaun Ferguson is confirming that rubber bullets were used against protesters last week on the Crescent City Connection.
Ferguson spoke about the incident yesterday by first offering a formal apology to the city and its citizens for the initial release of inaccurate information concerning the tactics used during the event.
Ferguson acknowledged that both tear gas and rubber bullets were used on June 3, but the commander on the scene never authorized that projectiles be fired.
Ferguson added that he has ordered a review on how the incorrect information was released and an investigation into actions taken by NOPD officers that night.
