The Louisiana Department of Health is giving an update on COVID-19 cases and deaths in the state.
LDH says there is a total of almost 45,000 coronavirus cases throughout the state with 523 additional cases reported today.
The state has a total of almost 3,000 virus related deaths with nine new deaths recorded.
New cases have been increasing over recent weeks due to the reopening of the state.
