New Orleans councilmember Jared Brossett says he will seek medical treatment following his DUI arrest on Sunday.
Brossett apologized for his actions yesterday before announcing he will enter an in-patient treatment program.
Brossett did not say if he planned to resign his seat on the council while Mayor LaToya Cantrell and other councilmembers released statements of support for his recovery from alcoholism.
Council Vice President Helena Moreno said she would watch over Brossett's district while he is in treatment.
