The Louisiana Department of Health reported an additional 534 COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, bringing the statewide total to 47,706.
LDH notes that 148 cases came from backlogged tests that date back as far as mid-April.
2,930 Louisianians have died from the coronavirus. There are currently 588 hospitalized from COVID-19 with 77 of those on ventilators.
