Three Jefferson Parish Sheriff Deputies are being treated for injuries suffered during a confrontation with protesters on Tuesday.
The deputies were hurt while trying to stop a crowd of demonstrators from marching up the Lafayette Street off-ramp to the Westbank Expressway.
Protestors were marching to call for investigations into the recent JPSO-involved deaths of five black men, and demanding deputies begin wearing body cameras.
The marchers were warned over a bullhorn that the expressway was off-limits, which lead to punches being thrown and at least five people taken into custody.
