An information technology staffer in the city's Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness is facing a suspension after a social media post in his name alluded to shooting "rioters."

Mayor LaToya Cantrell's administration announced Tuesday night that Adam Brickeen will be suspended pending a disciplinary hearing that could lead to his termination.

In one of the posts, Brickeen wrote "If rioters come to your area, please remember, don't be a litterbug, pick up your brass," suggesting that residents should clean up their shell casings if a "rioter" comes around.

Brickeen's suspension comes less than a week after the NOPD fired Sgt. Anthony Edenfield for calling protesters "animals" and saying he would run them over with his car or shoot them if he needed.
