Live Music Venues Can Have Performers If State Officials Approve Request

Entertainment venues are now allowed to have live music if a request they send to the Department of Health is approved.

Officials confirmed yesterday that as part of the Phase Two of re-opening, the state fire marshal must also sign off on any request before performers can return to entertaining patrons.

Clubs must have at least 12 feet of separation between the audience and performers, and a HVAC system that recycles air six times per hour.

Venues in New Orleans, however, are still waiting for approval to host live music as the city follows a different re-opening timeline than the rest of the state.
