The cruise ship industry says it will push back returning to the ocean from this summer until sometime in September.

Cruise Lines International which represents Carnival, Royal Caribbean, Disney, and others announced yesterday that they would not resume sailing in July and August as originally hoped.

Some lines said they were targeting September 15th or September 30th to begin welcoming back passengers.

The Port of New Orleans says they have lost around $4 million in revenue this year from the loss of cruise line business.
