Over 2,000 COVID-19 Cases Reported By LDH Wednesday

The total number of COVID-19 cases in Louisiana surged by 2,083 cases to 60,178, the Louisiana Department of Health announced Wednesday.

LDH noted the collection dates for the latest cases fell between June 13 and July 1. Nearly all of the cases came from community spread and almost half were among those 29 and younger.

There were also 18 additional deaths reported, bringing that total to 3,130.

Hospitalizations rose by 18 to 799 and there are 84 on ventilators, an increase of one from Tuesday.
