Mayor LaToya Cantrell is putting new restriction in place on restaurants and bars as COVID-19 case numbers continue to rise.

Mayor Cantrell introduced the new regulations yesterday which amount to minor tweaks to the city's Phase 2 reopening plan put in place on June 13th.

Under the enhanced restrictions, bars and restaurants will be allowed to remain open but will be required to serve customers at tables or through take-out rather than allowing them to sit at a bar.

Additionally, indoor gatherings are limited to 25 people, a quarter of the number that were allowed previously.

The restrictions will go into effect Saturday at 6 a.m.
