Number Of COVID-19 Cases, Hospitalizations In Louisiana Up In Monday Update

The Louisiana Department of Health reported an additional 1,170 COVID-19 cases Monday, bringing the total to 79,827 since the pandemic began.

Most of the newly reported cases were collected between July 6 and July 13. 94% are blamed on community spread. 35% involve those aged 29 and younger.

Hospitalizations increased by 65 to 1,308 with 142 patients on ventilators, up 8 from Sunday.

Deaths blamed on COVID-19 increased by 7 to 3,315.
