Louisiana's COVID-19 Reported Case Count Again Grows By Over 2,000 Friday

The total of reported COVID-19 cases in Louisiana since the pandemic began stood at 88,590 Friday with the addition of 2,179 cases.

LDH said collection dates for most of the newest cases fell between July 10 and July 17 with 96% of the cases coming from community spread and 36% involved those 29 years old and younger.

Hospitializations also continued to rise, up 12 to 1,413 compared to Thursday. The number of patients on vents dropped by one to 161.

The death toll from the coronavirus increased by 24 to 3,399.
