The Louisiana Department of Health reported an additional 1,125 cases of COVID-19 Tuesday, bringing the state's running tally to 111,038 after the daily removal of newly identified duplicated and out-of-state cases.
State health officials say the collection dates for most of the newest cases came within the last seven days. 91% were community spread and 30% involved those aged 29 and younger.
Hospitalizations fell slightly by 17 to 1,583 but the number of patients on ventilators creeped up by six to 214.
The death count from coronavirus in Louisiana is at 3,700 with 26 additional deaths reported.
