One million masks are on their way to Louisiana public and private schools.
The new effort is feasible due to the state Department of Education and the Governor's Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management providing child care centers with personal protective equipment to mitigate the spread of COVID-19.
GOSEP is providing at least one cloth mask and 2,000 disposable masks for students and faculty who forget to wear one.
The new equipment is helping schools meet safety standards by the Board of Elementary and Secondary Education.
