A new school year is here in metro New Orleans, but not everyone is starting school at the same time due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Beginning this week, schools in the St. Bernard Parish School District will return to the classroom, along with most schools in the Jefferson Parish Public School System.
Both districts are beginning classes on Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively.
Other school districts in the metro area are not set to start in-person instruction until at least after Labor Day, including New Orleans Public Schools and the St. Tammany Parish School System.
