The Louisiana Department of Health reported an additional 41 COVID-19 deaths Thursday, bringing the total since the pandemic began to 4,279.
LDH also reported 1,137 additional cases, bringing the total number to 135,439 after the daily removal of newly discovered duplicates and out of state cases.
The department noted collection dates for 98% of the latest cases fell between August 6 and August 13. 89% of the cases are from community spread and 30% are of those aged 29 and under.
Hospitalizations and the number of patients on ventilators fell 39 and 15 respectively to 1,281 and 196.
