Those who live near a chemical plant fire in Westlake, near Lake Charles, are still being urged to stay at home.

Governor John Bel Edwards says officials are doing everything they can to put out the blaze.

Louisiana State Police Superintendent Colonel Kevin Reeves says it happened at BioLab, a pool chlorine product manufacturer, when some of the product began decomposing as Laura moved onshore.

However, it's unknown exactly why that happened.

Reeves says that created heat, began burning, and kept doing so despite the efforts of those at BioLab.

Residents are asked to keep their doors and windows closed and to turn off their air conditioners.
