Sources say LSU's top returning wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase is leaving the team and opting out of the 2020 college football season.

An official announcement is expected sometime today from the LSU junior who set SEC records last season for touchdowns and receiving yards.

The decision seems to be based on Chase's desire to stay injury-free and prepare for the 2021 NFL Draft.

A native of New Orleans, Chase won the 2019 Fred Biletnikoff Trophy and had 98 career receptions at LSU for over 2,000 yards and 23 touchdowns.
