The number of those hospitalized in Louisiana due to COVID-19 rose by 29 to 910 in Tuesday's update from the Louisiana Department of Health. Those on ventilators fell slightly to 128, down four from Monday.
LDH reported an additional 667 cases Tuesday, bringing the running total to 148,882 following the daily removal of newly discovered duplicates and out of state cases.
The collection dates for most of these cases fell between August 24 and August 31, with 91% blamed on community spread. 39% of the cases involved those 29 and younger.
The death count from the coronanvirus increased by 34 to 3,821.
