The Louisiana Department of Health says they can confirm two more deaths in the state directly related to Hurricane Laura.

The LDH said yesterday that a 36-year-old man and an 80-year-old woman, both from Beauregard Parish, are now official casualties from the storm, bringing the death total to 17.

The identities of the victims were not released because of privacy concerns, but the cause of death for both was listed as heat-related illness.
