The fate of how the upcoming election will be handled in Louisiana is in the hands of a federal judge.

After Louisiana Secretary of State Kyle Ardoin's proposed emergency election plan was declined by Governor John Bel Edwards, the judge will now initiate an emergency plan.

The current plan states that early voting for the November 3 election will expand from seven to 10 days.

The new plan has to be approved by both houses of the Louisiana Legislature and the Governor.
