The Louisiana Department of Health reported an additional 972 COVID-19 cases Friday, bringing the total number of cases to 160,283 since the pandemic hit Louisiana.
LDH said that most of these cases were collected between September 10 and September 17, with 92% blamed on community spread.
29 additional deaths brought the total count blamed on the coronavirus in Louisiana to 5,172.
Hospitalizations fell by 16 to 647. Of those patients, 104 are on ventilators, down two from Thursday.
