An officer with the New Orleans Police Department is behind bars for allegedly engaging in an inappropriate relationship with an underage minor.
The NOPD Public Integrity Bureau says Senior Police Officer Rodney Vicknair was arrested Friday and placed on immediate suspension after they conducted a preliminary investigation on the alleged relationship.
It's unclear if Vicknair had a relationship with the child prior to the abuse.
The 13-year veteran now faces a slew of charges including sexual battery, indecent behavior with a juvenile, and malfeasance in office.
