The Jefferson Parish President is in quarantine after being exposed to COVID-19.
Cynthia Lee-Sheng was exposed to the virus and is now self-isolating for two weeks according to the announcement made at a council meeting.
In Sheng's statement she said even though she is not experiencing any symptoms out of an abundance of caution she did not want to be in the chambers with other council members.
With the diagnosis comes a warning from Sheng urging residents to take the virus seriously as COVID-19 cases in the parish have recently increased.
