Following an outbreak of COVID-19 cases among the Gator football team, this Saturday's game between LSU and Florida is now postponed to December.

The Gators put football activities on hold Tuesday after reports of 19 positive cases in recent days.

The SEC announced Wednesday that the game is now tentatively scheduled for December 12 in Gainesville.

"Our priority is the health and well-being of our student-athletes and staff," said LSU AD Scott Woodward. "The decision to reschedule the game comes as a result of close coordination and cooperation with the University of Florida and SEC officials and we are in full support.

"It is disappointing for everyone, but prudent," Woodward continued. "We wish all those at Florida who may be impacted the very best."

Vanderbilt is also having virus-related issues, so they won't be playing Missouri on Saturday.
