The city of New Orleans is preparing to move into the second stage of its tiered Phase 3 re-opening plan on Friday.
Officials said yesterday that bars with outdoor capacity that do not serve food can now re-open at 25% capacity with a cap of 50 people under the new stage.
Sporting events will be allowed to host fans at 25% capacity or 500 people, whichever is less, and religious establishments can operate at 50% or 500 people.
Last month, Mayor LaToya Cantrell announced that the city would take a slower approach to moving fully into Phase 3 to better evaluate the impact of easing restrictions.
