LSU is self-imposing several penalties for rules violations.

Sports Illustrated reports the school has docked itself eight football scholarships over a two-year period and is reducing recruiting visits, evaluations and communication.

This comes after a two-year investigation uncovered booster payments to the father of an LSU player.

The program is also banning former LSU wide receiver and current Cleveland Browns star Odell Beckham Jr. for two years after he distributed $2,000 to players.

Beckham Jr. was seen handing out $100 bills after LSU's win over Clemson in the national title game.

The NCAA could still hand out harsher punishment to the program.
