Residents across Louisiana are getting an extra hour of sleep this weekend as Daylight Saving Time comes to an end at 2 a.m. Sunday morning.
Clocks will fall back an hour to 1 a.m., which means any clocks you have which do not automatically update will need to be changed by hand.
Fire officials have long urged using the time change as an opportunity to refresh the batteries in smoke alarms as a safety precaution to make sure they are in proper working order.
Clocks will stay the same until next year when they spring forward on the weekend of March 14.
