The state of Louisiana is projected to pledge its eight electoral votes for President Donald Trump.

According to uncertified results from yesterday's election, President Trump won the state's electoral votes yesterday with a 58% advantage over challenger Joe Biden.

In the other statewide race, Senator Bill Cassidy is projected to retain his seat in the U.S. Senate with an estimated 59% of the vote, which will prevent the race from going to a run-off election.

Cassidy was first elected to the Senate in 2014, defeating Mary Landrieu, to become the first Republican to hold the seat since Reconstruction.
