The Orleans Public Defenders Office says its lawyers assigned to Municipal and Traffic Court are quarantining.

On Monday, the office made the announcement after a court staffer and one of its lawyers tested positive for coronavirus.

The court is just the latest in New Orleans to have its operations interrupted by the coronavirus.

In recent weeks, 2nd City Court and Orleans Parish Criminal District Court have also temporarily closed their doors due to COVID-19 exposure.

Officials say the lawyers will remain quarantined for the next 14 days.
