The Louisiana Department of Health reported 3,604 additional COVID-19 cases Wednesday, including a backlog of 1,551 cases with collection dates going back to April.
The total number of reported cases since the pandemic began stood at 241,335 with 227,780 of those confirmed and 13,555 considered probable coronavirus cases.
The death toll increased by 46 to 6,501.
Hospitalizations rose slightly by eight to 1,288. The number of patients on ventilators increased by six to 134.
State health officials added that 202,891 are now presumed recovered from the coronavirus.
