The St. Charles Parish Sheriff says the body of a woman found this week has been identified as a woman reported missing last Saturday.
Officials said yesterday that the body of 71-year-old Anna Mae Chauvin was discovered in a wooded area west of Destrehan near a drainage pumping station.
Chauvin, who reportedly had been diagnosed with dementia, went missing last Saturday afternoon from Lakeside Mall in Jefferson Parish.
Authorities do not suspect foul play but are still investigating the cause of death.
