Louisiana State University is self-imposing a one-year bowl game ban this season as part of an ongoing NCAA case.
The University announced the ban on Wednesday, making it the second time this year LSU has self-imposed penalties related to a two-year-old case involving a booster who paid the father of a former player $180,000 in stolen money.
Head coach Ed Orgeron said he respects the school's decision to address NCAA issues proactively.
The Tigers are 3-5 with two games left and would most likely have needed to win at least one more to receive a bowl invitation.
