Students at the Kenner Discovery Health Science academies are preparing to move to a remote learning model tomorrow because of the pandemic.
School officials announced Tuesday night that the schools would be shifting to online learning tomorrow to avoid having students exposed to the coronavirus over the holidays bring the virus into their classrooms.
Officials said the decision to move to virtual learning was based on multiple factors, including a jump in the student-positivity-quarantine rate from 4% to 11%.
Administrators say they hope to return to in-person instruction in early January.
