The Louisiana Department of Health reported an additional 3,851 COVID-19 cases Thursday, bringing the total number of reported cases since the pandemic began to 279,321.
There are 1,602 hospitalized with the coronavirus, up 18 from Wednesday. The number of patients on ventilators increased by two to 169.
The death toll from COVID-19 increased by 31 to a total of 6,964.
There are 232,725 presumed recovered from the coronavirus in Louisiana as of December 14.
