New Orleans Public Schools students are preparing to leave their classrooms later this week and return to distance learning.
Officials said yesterday that students would move to a remote learning model no later than January 7 and remain there until at least January 21.
Supt. Dr. Henderson Lewis said the transition out of the classrooms was made because of a jump in positive cases of COVID-19 over the past several days, which indicate a worsening trend.
