The Louisiana Department of Health reported 105 COVID-19 deaths Friday, the second highest daily total since the pandemic began.
"The only day with a higher number of deaths was April 14, 2020 when 129 deaths were reported," LDH said on Twitter. The death toll from the coronavirus in Louisiana stood at 7,833.
State health officials also reported an additional 3,372 COVID-19 cases overnight, pushing the running tally to 341,431.
Hospitalizations rose by 36 to 2,069 with 220 patients on ventilators, an increase of one from Thursday
