The LSU Athletics department released a statement yesterday concerning a sponsor's connection to the violence in Washington, D.C. last week.
Rouses co-owner Donald Rouse, Sr. was photographed in the crowd at the Stop the Steal protest that preceded a deadly riot at the U.S. Capitol.
The university said the photos were "deeply troubling," and condemned what it called an assault upon democratic ideals.
Rouse released a statement of his own saying that he left the rally "before the violence began," and said he was horrified by the riot that followed.
