Gov. John Bel Edwards says he is extending Phase 2 of the state's COVID-19 restrictions for another month.

Edwards announced the decision on Tuesday, saying Louisiana businesses should keep their employees working at home as much as possible.

Some coronavirus protocols in place since late November and set to expire today will now be extended until February 10, including the statewide mask mandate and provisions limiting bars to outdoor and delivery service.

Edwards said he is keeping these measures in place because of data showing increases in cases and hospitalizations.
