New Orleans is moving into a modified Phase 2 of reopening amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Restaurants will be able to seat more customers and small gatherings can happen under the eased restrictions.
However, bars are set to stay closed to indoor service through Mardi Gras as a way to keep residents safe if tourists arrive for the Carnival season.
The modified Phase 2 will start this Friday morning at 6:00 a.m.
