Mayor Latoya Cantrell is responding following the circulation of a video on social media showing large crowds on Bourbon Street Saturday night.

On Sunday, Mayor Cantrell issued a statement calling the potential super-spreader event "dangerous" and "unacceptable" as it puts many lives at risk.

In the 14-second video, a large crowd is seen dancing to a song by Baton Rouge rapper Boosie, with many in the frame choosing to not wear CDC-approved face masks or coverings.

The gathering came just two days after the eased coronavirus restrictions in the city.

Cantrell says she is going to take a hard look at what happened on Bourbon this weekend and "pursue appropriate action whenever possible."
