The Louisiana Department of Health added 53 deaths due to COVID-19 to its coronavirus dashboard overnight, pushing the ongoing total since the pandemic began to 9,006.
LDH also reported an additional 2,046 cases of the virus. The total case count stood at 406,235.
The number of presumed recovered from the coronavirus in Louisiana increased by 19,136 to 364,457 as of February 1.
Hospitalizations were once again on a decline, down 54 to 1,386 statewide. 180 patients were on ventilators, nine fewer than Tuesday.
