179 New COVID-19 Cases Reported In Louisiana Tuesday, 66 Additional Deaths

The Louisiana Department of Health reported just 179 new cases of COVID-19 statewide Wednesday, which brought the total number of cases since the pandemic began to 421,018.

LDH did not release an update on Tuesday due to the Mardi Gras holiday.

State health officials also updated the number of presumed recovered from the coronavirus to 396,834 as of February 15, an increase of 16,161.

The death toll from COVID-19 rose by 66 to 9,391. The number of patients hospitalized due to the virus was unchanged at 849 with 126 on ventilators, down 11 from Monday.
