The Regional Transit Authority is introducing a proposal that would help New Orleans and Jefferson Parish transit riders see faster commutes.

On Tuesday, RTA presented a proposal that aims to get more riders to work and school within 20 minutes.

According to reports, the plan advises cuts to underused routes, and more frequent service on others which would help 65% of the region's households without cars to catch transportation at a much faster rate.

The RTA board will decide on those and other changes in the coming months. Whatever is approved would be implemented in the fall.
