The family of a 14-year-old girl is suing the New Orleans Police Department over allegations an officer raped the teen.
Details of the civil rights lawsuit against officer Rodney Vicknair and the NOPD released yesterday claim the Department failed to follow policy and did nothing after the victim was allegedly raped a second time.
Vicknair transported the victim to the hospital last May and is accused of grooming her over the next several months before raping her twice.
Vicknair was arrested for rape last September and after being place on suspension, was fired by the NOPD at the end of January.
